Baking fest!

I love baking. I just rarely have the time to do it. Mom might disagree cuz I usually bake every Sunday! So its Sunday and its my time to relax and prepare for the week. SO I made chocolate chip pancakes (then the boys can just pop them in the toaster throughout the week), blueberry muffin loaves with oats, whole wheat bread this is all from scratch by the way (not bragging just let you know that I really love baking completely from scratch if possible) and brownies (from a box). I love searching through my pantry and realizing, when there seems to be nothing to eat, that I can create something out of nothing. AND if I do a baking fest its just one night with lots of rewards throughout the week. You already have your tools dirty so you might as well make more or double up batches etc etc. It gives my some satisfaction especially seeing the boys beaming smiles that I've made something scrumptious ; ) Now I can only take a nibble here and there or else I'd be huge. I am definitly not built like them. You would think that they were football players or something. They eat a ton! Boys will be boys!!! The best part is all the wonderful smells that come from the kitchen -- there's nothing like the smell of fresh baked bread and the taste right out of the oven! Yum!!!

A trip to Sean and Kellie's in LA

Before we headed back to Utah from our San Diego trip we decided to drive up to LA to visit Sean and Kellie, spend some time with them and see David and Carla's place in Glendale -really just about 10 mins. from Sean's. We went to a great Argentine restaurant and ate some fabulous mexican food at "Poquito Mas". Not to mention we took a tour of Cartoon network and went to Travel Town. We had a great time and we especially enjoyed getting to know Kellie a whole lot more (Sean's girlfriend of 5 years).

Cartoon Network

My brother, Sean, works for Cartoon Network. It was such a great expereince to not only take a tour of the studio but to have a better understanding of the animation process from start to finish. His specialty is doing storyboards and writing. He is currently working on the misadventures of Flapjack.... the boys love the show. He works so hard drawing by freehand to the point of getting cramps but he loves it and what other job allows you to be surrounding by cartoons, draw them , create the story, watch them and be able to play video games on your break?!?! He does have tough deadlines though. I took a ton of pics but this at least gives you a glimpse. Sean you are so talented and we are so proud of the amazing work that you do!! It was so fun to see where you work and how its all done. We will watch cartoons in a new light now. Sean's girlfriend Kellie works for Nickelodeon we can't wait for that tour.

Everett's blessing

We are so glad that we were able to go to San Diego for Everett's blessing (our newest nephew and my brother's first child) Everett is amazing, so sweet and just a delight to hold and cuddle with. We love you Everett. After the blessings we went to Carla's parents house in Jamul. The view is amazing! If anyone knows my Father we took about a hundred pictures and we are so glad that we got a sibling shot. Here are my brothers and sister all together. It was a great day!

Travel Town in Los Angeles

Sean And Kellie took us to Travel town. The boys loved it. We all got to view and climb aboard the old trains, read about their history and even go for a ride in a mini-kids train. What a great place to go!! And though it was a bit cold - it was paradise compared to Utah!! Thanks Sean for showing us a great time ; )
