Sculling

Every Thursday from 9:30 until almost 12 noon I enjoy a sculling class. It has been an incredible workout, growing experience, a step out of my comfort zone and FUN! It sounds cliche but variety is indeed the spice of life and I am so glad I had the courage to try something different and make new friends. It has been a great journey of discovery and I am so glad I did not miss out on experiencing LIFE!

Cutting my hair....

Brandon took these pictures at Round Table Pizza with his phone.

To cut or not to cut was the question..... I donated my hair to locks of love back in September which was 4 months ago almost to the day. Ten inches was a lot to lose all at once but for family, for Carla and David specifically, it was worth it. I have really missed my long hair but was so grateful for the discovery that I can look "cute" "pretty" and even, yes I am going to say it, "sexy" with short hair. I was convinced that you had to have long hair to feel feminine and attractive especially since I have a husband who also loves long hair. This experience has been very liberating! So now if I want to grow it out I actually have to cut it again or at least trim it. I really didn't want to do that but if you want healthy hair....well another cut was necessary. I didn't have any style to it before since they just chopped it off so it was very nice to have some shape and volume to it now. Many people have commented on how nice my hair looks short that I am tempted to keep it this way for a while. Either way it will be a super slow process to grow it out again so I might as well enjoy it!

OB

Brandon and I really needed to spend some time alone. There has been so much going on and we needed to just get away, clear our heads, relax, think, talk and hopefully just enjoy each other as we should. So Brandon surprised me with a mini getaway to OB (Ocean Beach). The pictures came out really clear on my phone however once transferred to the computer not only are they small but blurry- not sure what happened there. The morning before we left there was a high surf advisory and they were actually going to close down the pier since the waves were crashing at its level- luckily this news didn't change our plans at all. We checked into our hotel-- which I loved and even reminded me of Spain-- wood flooring, quaint charming wooden furniture, sand on the floor the sound of waves in the back ground. I loved this place and would totally recommend it. We walked onto the pier which was reopened. It was so awesome seeing the waves, feeling the pier shake and enjoying all the people and crowds admiring the same thing. We later went to Nicks and ate a delicious dinner, the tiramisu made with Brandy not coffee was incredibly good. We walked around checking out the little shops and clubs...there is definitely a different energy at the beach. We felt like we were on vacation somewhere instead of just 20 mins from home! We slept to the sound of the ocean- which is perfect and then enjoyed the sights the next day. It was just a mini get a way but so worth it--- so why did we wait more than 2 years to do something like this?!?!?! It was a great reminder that we need to do things TOGETHER more often. With our busy schedules, the boys and just life with its stresses and trials one tends to drift apart. If we want to nourish our relationship and have a happy enriching marriage then we need to do things like this way more often! It was a lot of fun!
