Spring Picture day!

Today is spring picture day at school. Now back in the fall which is the standard picture day we decided to not order any pictures but I promised the boys we'd do it in the spring since we never order spring pictures. The irony is that my son is sporting a black eye -- not the perfect situation for a portrait but I did promise!! They are both so handsome anyway...bumps, bruises and all! I love you boys! We can't wait to see how they turn out!

It's getting better!

Jordan's eye is healing surprisingly fast!!! We are so glad that he is doing better! He is eager to play baseball again which we were a little shocked about but very happy to hear it. In fact he played catch with Brandon yesterday! We are so proud of him and how he has handled all of this! We love you Jordan!!! So I guess this means he will play in his first official game (since 2nd grade) this thursday with his team!! Go Reds!

Easter ( a little delayed)

We've had so much going on that I haven't had much of a chance to write about Easter!

Easter is one of my favorite holidays/celebrations. You have all the cultural activities such as Easter baskets, new clothes, coloring eggs, an egg hunt and getting together with family for some sort of meal ....and then there is the spiritual meaning behind it all. I love Easter because it is a day to celebrate love, sacrifice and families. Our savior gave us the incredible gift of the atonement and resurrection which in plain English means that after His death his spirit and body reunited to become one glorious celestial immortal being and since all that the Father has we can have then we too can and will be resurrected and can live with our families forever!!! What a blessing, what a miracle and what a gift!!! I love the fact that families can be together forever and that the Savior has taken the sting out of death. I am so grateful also for the atonement- for the opportunity we have to repent and be forgiven. We can continually progress, move forward from past mistakes, learn and grow and become the person that Heavenly father needs us to be. Basically the best version of ourselves as possible. I also love this time of year when the world is becoming green, vibrant and beautiful again. I love all the flowers that are in bloom, the birds, and the gentle breeze on a warm day. On a side note :while in San Diego I took my boys to St. Rose of Lima (Catholic Church) in Chula Vista. I wanted them to experience and learn about my roots. Jordan was very interested. We talked about "Mass" and what it is like, they sat in the pew, viewed the sculptures of Christ, Mary and Joseph... I explained to them about the confession booths, the incense, the eucharist etc... it brought back so many memories and the chapel smelled and looked exactly as it did when I was a child. It was a great day for us all.

My Poor Jordan

(These pictures are before and after it turned black and blue. Brown shirt last night and the gray shirt this morning)

You never want to get the call that one of your children is hurt. Your heart begins to pound and its as if you can't breathe. We got the call yesterday during baseball practice that he was hurt and we needed to come right away. Someone was stealing a base , jordan was second baseman, the catcher threw the ball to him but it was short... it hit the ground at a funky angle and bounced up directly with force to his eye!!! His eye is completely swollen shut! He is in so much pain but in good spirits. We went to the doctor yesterday and they think he'll be ok his eye seems to be functioning --they said maybe he fractured part of his skull by the brow- he could open it a crack BUT today it is worse he can't open it at all and obviously can not see. So off to the ER this morning!

Am I in Heaven???

Aahh.... sigh.... sitting in the back yard... lazily rocking ever so gently on my mom's huge patio swing... the sun beaming down on my face.. the warmth spreading over my entire body... the hypnotic sound of the "creepy crawler" in the glistening pool... birds chirping and singing in the background... a sound of an airplane in the distance over head....a cool breeze mingling with the palm trees... a cool drink in hand.... mmmmm....I think I found my paradise. The bonita 4 star resort otherwise known as Grandmama and Pampie's house is my breath of fresh air. 80 degrees and gorgeous!

I had visions of kickin' it by the pool all week , getting tan, swimming, hitting the beach .... not so far... still very very glad to be here but I long for warmth hope we find it soon!!!!

Visitors!

It has been a wonderful week. In all honesty it goes by so fast!!! You think you have all the time in the world and all of a sudden there's only a few hours left. My parents came to visit for Easter/Spring break and it is so nice to have them here. Dad as usual had his own agenda.... anyone surprised?!?!?... he had a professional tennis lesson every morning in Orem, swimming and then out to IHOP for breakfast/lunch. So really we didn't see him all day!! Some days by the afternoon and others by night but he was very happy-- improved on his game and even lost 4 punds this week!! Not like he needs to lose ANY weight -- he's about to wither away!! My mom on the other hand was the perfect companion. We went to the gateway mall, shopping , shopping and more shopping, got facials, manicures, pedicures, ate out for lunch, vegged out and watched movies together, went to the museum of art at BYU and ofcourse the temple. We had a great time talking and doing a lot of the normal day to day activities like taking Noah to preschool, exercising, doing homework with the boys.. reading stories, FHE.. etc etc...That leaves us with today--Today we had a delicious easter brunch at the Harvest restaurant located at Thanksgiving point. We ALL over ate and enjoyed EVERY bite. We got things prepared for easter sunday -- played games with the boys, had tea time and now its time to say goodbye until summer! I will post pictures soon!!! I love my parents so much and I am so glad that they not only were able to visit but help out and see how we live day in and day out. : )

Braces

We found out yesterday that Aidan is going to need Braces. So they'll put them on this summer to help space out his teeth -- there's no room for the new permanent teeth- he'll have them on for about 6 months and then again at 12 for at least 6 months. Luckily he thought it was cool -- he has such a happy spirit!!! Speaking of happy..... I was telling Noah that we had to get ready soon because I had to go to the doctor and Brandon says : "Yea mommy is having her "GRUMPY" removed so now she'll always be HAPPY!!!" I started busting up laughing while giving him an evil look and then he started kissing me all over. He never fails to make me laugh!! And by the way that's NOT what I am going to the doctor for at all!!!
