Out of love...

The boys truly love their aunts and uncles so much. They are eager to spend time with them, learn from them, and get to know them better. When Carla was diagnosed with cancer she became the topic of most of our conversations and prayers. They knew that at some point she would lose her hair due to the chemo. Then they saw her pictures that indeed she did shave her head and so did David. They commented that David now looked like a soldier and it inspired them. So we talked about it and Aidan and Noah both wanted to shave their heads too. So Monday after school filled with excitement and nerves we cut their hair. I was more hesitant than they were. I would cut a little, they would look in the mirror and I would ask "should I go shorter" and without a doubt they would say YES! So Aidan was the first and it took a bit longer because I kept stopping to ask him but with Noah we just went for it now that I was more confident that they were both very sure they wanted to do this as a token of love for their aunt. It was very heart warming and inspiring to see how easily they love and how willing they are to show their support.

Noah's 1st Bee Sting

We went to our ward Memorial Day Picnic at Villa Norte Park. We were having a wonderful time and then Noah came running up to me and told me he got stung by a bee. Luckily, he wasn't crying or in a panic but his finger was swelling fast. Bro. McCan gave him some tylenol that he crushed up into some soda - I think Noah would have swallowed it just fine had he asked but this was way more exciting for Noah especially since he hardly ever gets to drink soda. The combination of medicine and sticking his finger in ice water for a while did the trick! Noah still gets a little nervous around bees but now that he has gone through actually getting stung hes not that afraid anymore.

Sea World Field Trip

Mrs. A's Kinder class was really looking forward to going to Sea World. It was pretty much the last field trip of the year and they were ready to go. I was very glad to join them since I had just resigned at the Hospital. How I missed being involved with the kids! They were all full of energy and excitement as we went to each exhibit. Since this was a school field trip there were not able to go to any "shows" but luckily there was still plenty to see and they kept it very educational. One of the highlights was seeing the new sea turtles and polar bears. They were amazing. Over all a great trip but we are determined to go back soon with the family to enjoy all that Sea World has to offer.
