My new bike

My parents bought this beautiful beach cruiser for my birthday. I absolutely love it. I have been asking for one for years and now my childhood dream has come true. I LOVE riding my bike. I love feeling the wind in my hair, the sun beaming down on me, and the thrill of the ride. I usually bike for exercise but on a cruiser I can do it for pleasure. I know it my sound silly but it does give me pure joy to ride it and now I remember why my kids always want to ride bikes, scooters or skateboards ... because it is FUN!! We could all use a little more FUN these days! Thanks mom and dad!

My Birthday

I have to be honest and admit that I wasn't too thrilled to celebrate my birthday this year. It was a difficult year and I wasn't where I wanted to be financially or physically (being a good 10-15 pounds overweight didn't help either) but how could I resist doing my absolute favorite things on a beautiful day?!?! I LOVE biking especially at Mission Bay and sailing was just the icing on the cake. I was also very proud of Noah who was able to go the distance for the first time. He did such an awesome job! Later that evening we went to Olive Garden for a delicious dinner. A BIG thank you to everyone for making it a great day.

La Jolla Shores

It was a bright sunny summer day and we just had to get out to La Jolla Shores at least one last time before school began. Living in San Diego one might get the impression that we go to the beach ALL the time but even though its 20 mins away we just don't get out there as often as we would like. Parking is a nightmare in the summer with all the tourists, its often overcast and gloomy and the water is freezing - yes even in the middle of summer! But we do LOVE the beach!!! Every summer we claim we will go every week but we fill up our summers with so many fun activities that we find ourselves having to "schedule" it to go. Hopefully we will go a ton next summer - but hey thats what we say every year so here hoping!!!

Round Table Pizza Field Trip

All the scouts were looking forward to our much anticipated field trip to Round Table Pizza. I have seriously never seen the boys so happy and excited. The learned to fold their own pizza boxes, prepare the dough, measure the ingredients, create their own personal pizzas and got a tour of the freezer and kitchen. They had so much fun and to be honest I did too! We all had a great time and it was so cheap just $4 a kid. The boys not only enjoyed their food but earned a certificate and took home a 50% off coupon to come back with their families. It was such a great experience that I hope we do it again soon!
