The Zoo

We have gone to the Hogle Zoo twice during May, once for a field trip at school and the other when my Mom came to visit for Memorial Day. We love the zoo. Animals are simply amazing -- since we watch discovery channel often and Zaboomafoo everyday the boys and I are very aware of God's creatures. We got to see the famous "Ghost of the Bayou" which was a rare white North American alligator. He was literally a work of art beautiful to see and admire. We also saw a very well done bird show that was breathtaking and fun! You should see these eagles soaring just inches from your head! The boys love to ride the train and be up close to all the animals. At this zoo you can go up a flight of stairs and be head to head with the Giraffes!! The hogle zoo, though ALOT smaller than the San Diego Zoo definitely has it's beauty and treasures. And it's way more manageable to do in an afternoon with the kids and not to mention a heck of a lot cheaper too!!

I am not a huge fan of the zoo! I think that I took too many field trips to the zoo growing up, and with the preschool. I am never at ease there, always in the back of my mind I am thinking, one of these animals could escape. Then that lion had to go and get out in San Francisco, confirming my worst fears. So we don't go to the zoo much! I know, I am a freak!
