If you can believe it- I just finished making homemade dog biscuits for my dear lab Aj! They just have to dry out for 2 hours now. Its so fun to learn something new!!! They are even candy cane shaped I had to be festive! Though my dog probably wont care or recognize the effort I feel good and saved some $$$ which is always a good thing!
SO how do you make them:
-Preheat oven to 350 degrees
-Mix together 1 cup dry oats, 2 cups whole wheat flour, 1 cup ALL NATURAL peanut butter, 1 cup water, 1/4 cup olive oil, and 1 beaten egg.
-Sprinkle a bit of flour over a flat, clean surface, and roll the mixture out over the flour to 3/4 inch thick.
-Use cookie cutter to cut in desired shape; place cookies on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
-Bake for 20 minutes on one side; flip and bake an additional 20 minutes.
-Remove to cooling racks and let dry thoroughly.
-Biscuits are ready after about 2 hours.

I suggest doing a double batch- you are already baking so why not- then you have about 45 biscuits, if you figure he eats at least one a day that's a month supply!
By the way AJ loves them!!!
